I need to make one point perfectly clear as I comment on the Pope’s words and actions about the upcoming July 2-3 The People and Planet First’ Conference. This is not about trashing Catholicism or the beliefs of the millions of faithful Catholics! It is about a man whose chose to use his “bully pulpit” to step into the arena of science and politics, influencing millions of others in the process, and my opinion of him and those policies. Because he did take the step and no matter who he is, he is fair game to expose his falsehoods and to offer criticism of his actions, just like any other person. Having said that…
The Guardian (UK) reported on June 27 that the Vatican added Occupy Wall Street activist Naomi Klein to a growing list of activists for its upcoming “environmental conference.” The July conference; The People and Planet First’ Conference hosted by The Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and The International Alliance of Catholic Development ,is being called to carry out the June 2015 encyclical. Can you say Social Justice…or Redistribution of Wealth?
Just like the Pope’s April Pontifical Academy of Sciences denied entrance to those with differing points of view, the same rules apply to The People and Planet First’ Conference. Of course this was done..as the Pope said; so we might have “an open and honest debate”! That just doesn’t make sense to me. So much for Honest…so much for Open. Again, I stand scratching my head as to the radicals the Pope is surrounding himself with and his feckless statement of “an open and honest debate”.
Ms.Klein has a history of economic and environmental meddling. In a November 2011 piece for The Nation Magazine, Ms Klein, stated her economic views are “intellectually cataclysmic” for conservatives, and drastic economic changes would be necessary to address climate change. So just how drastic are we talking? Klein said, “the new systemsIS GOING TO REQUIRE SHREDDING THE FREE-MARKET IDEOLOGY (emphasis added),that has dominated the global economy for more than three decades”. She wants to destroy Capitalism! I look at her and read her drivel and see green on the outside and red on the inside.
So far five different people who oppose the notion of man-made global warming were denied an invitation to attend. Instead, Naomi Klein, a full-blown Marxist activist and a “ferocious critic of capitalism” is among the growing list of radicals invited(allowed) by the Pope to attend the July conference. Of course we must not forget the Pantheist, Hans Schellnhuber, who heads up the Popes Pontifical Academy of Sciences will also be spewing his message as well.
If the Pope really wants to learn the truth of economics and global warming, then why does he deny those offering a differing view equal time? I can only assume he does not really want to know for his actions stop cold the “open and honest debate” he has opined. Talk is cheap!
Again, I wonder why the strange bedfellows whose relations are built on a lie?
